Description

INTRODUCTION

AC NANO contains Adapalene which belongs to the group of medicines called retinoic acid derivatives. It is used for the topical treatment of acne vulgaris in patients aged 12 years or older. It can be applied on the face, neck and back where the skin has lots of pimples, blackheads and dark spots. Acne vulgaris is a common skin condition that occurs in teens, when hair follicles of the skin plug with oil and dead skin cells. Symptoms includes inflammation, large, reddish pus-filled pimples and formation of comedones. Adapalene modulates keratinization and differentiation of follicular epithelial cells. It also has anti-inflammatory action which reduces soreness and irritation on the skin surface and reduces acne outbreaks. Along with the treatment, avoid exposure to sunlight or other artificial UV light as much as possible.

Apply a thin film of this medicine on the affected areas of the face and/or trunk. Do not apply this medicine on cut or scraped skin. After using this medicine continuously for 3 months, it is important to consult the doctor for accessing the improvements. Do not apply too much of this medicine, as it may result in skin irritation. The most common side effect of applying this medicine are dry skin, skin irritation or redness and burning sensation. Contact your doctor if any of these symptom bothers you. Do not apply this medicine if you are pregnant. Consult your doctor before application. Although, application of AC NANO is considered safe in breastfeeding women, avoid applying on the chest to avoid contact exposure for infants.

USES OF AC NANO

HOW AC NANO WORKS

Adapalene directly binds to the nuclear retinoic acid receptors of the skin and modulates keratinization and differentiation of follicular epithelial cells. It promotes lysis of keratinocytes, prevents horny cells from binding to each other and stimulates epidermal cell turnover. It also has anti-inflammatory action which reduces soreness and irritation on the skin surface and reduces the outbreaks of acne.

DIRECTIONS FOR USE

Apply this medicine once or twice daily on the affected skin area, usually before going to bed or as directed by your physician. It is for external use only. Before application, wash the affected area with a mild, non-medicated soap. Pat the skin dry. Apply a thin film of this medicine on the affected areas of the face and/or trunk.

Do not apply this medicine on wounded, damaged, cut or scraped skin. Avoid contact of this medicine with eyes, ears, nose, mouth or other very sensitive areas of the body. If contact happens, rinse it thoroughly with water. Your doctor will decide the correct dose and duration of therapy for you depending upon how your acne responds. Continue to apply this medicine, as long as your doctor tells you to do so, to obtain better results.
