Description

INTRODUCTION

ADIT 0.025% contains Tretinoin which belongs to the group of medicines called retinoids. It is used for the topical treatment of acne and photo-aging. Acne vulgaris is a common skin condition that occurs in teens, when hair follicles of the skin plug with oil and dead skin cells. Symptoms includes inflammation, large, reddish pus-filled pimples and formation of comedones. Photo-aging refers to premature skin aging caused by repeated or prolonged exposure to sun or other light sources resulting in development of wrinkles, pigmentation, whiteheads, blackheads and sagging of loose skin.

Tretinoin reduces pimples by making the surface of the skin thinner and pores, so that they become less likely to be blocked and inflamed. It stimulates the growth of new skin cells more rapidly which results in reduction of fine lines, wrinkles and dark spots. Wash the affected area thoroughly before applying this medicine. Do not apply too much of this medicine, as it may result in skin irritation. Along with the treatment, avoid exposure to sunlight as much as possible. Do not use this medicine if you have sunburn or other skin conditions.

The most common side effects of using this medicine are feeling of warmth, stinging, excessive redness, or worsening of acne. These are usually normal and temporary. You will begin to notice improvement in your skin after 2-3 weeks of starting tretinoin, but it may take 6-12 weeks for more definite benefits. So, continue to use this medicine, as long as your doctor tells you to do so, to obtain better results. Before using this medicine consult your doctor if you are pregnant or breastfeeding.
